Bruichladdich Launches Octomore 16 Series

Bruichladdich Distillery has launched the 16th series in it’s super heavily peated Octomore brand with a line-up consisting of Octomore 16.1, Octomore 16.2, and Octomore 16.3.

Octomore 16.1:

  • Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
  • Distilled in 2019 from the 2018 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley.
  • Full term maturation in first-fill Bourbon barrels.
  • Peated to 101.4 PPM (Parts Per Million).
  • Bottled at 59.3% ABV.
  • MSRP: £140.00 / $204.99

Octomore 16.1 is described as exhibiting notes of “salted caramel, honeyed melon, and apricot that lead into chocolate and coconut, accompanied by a soft wave of earthy minerality and lingering smoke.”

Octomore 16.2:

  • Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
  • Distilled in 2019 from the 2018 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley.
  • Matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks before being recasked into Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks for a final year of maturation.
  • Peated to 101.4 PPM.
  • Bottled at 58.1% ABV.

Octomore 16.2 is described as exhibiting notes of “caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, and dried fruits enveloped in sweet campfire smoke.”

Octomore 16.3:

  • Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
  • Distilled in 2019 from the 2018 harvest of 100% Islay grown Concerto barley from Octomore Farm.
  • Full term maturation in Bourbon, Sauternes, and Pedro Ximénez casks.
  • Peated to 189.5 PPM.
  • Bottled at 61.6% ABV.
  • MSRP: £195.00 / $279.99

Octomore 16.3 is described as exhibiting “a symphony of honeyed malt, toasted grain, and a distinctive earthiness that meets delicate threads of smoke and salinity.”

All three Octomores are bottled un-chill filtered and coloring free and are available now at select retailers and online at bruichladdich.com. A fourth expression, Octomore 16.4, will launch as a distillery exclusive on November 4th, 2025 to complete the series.
