Bardstown Bourbon Company Reveals 2026 Annual Releases: 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish

Bardstown Bourbon Company has unveiled two new limited fall releases: 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish.
With these releases, the Discovery Series moves from numbered to annual releases, while the Finishing Series expands on the brand’s collaborations with spirits producers from around the world. For the first time, Bardstown Bourbon Company’s annual releases also feature original commissioned artwork inspired directly by the whiskey itself. Louisville artist Margaret Archambault created each piece after experiencing the liquid, translating aroma, flavor, and texture into visual art that now appears on the bottles and packaging.
Bardstown Bourbon Company 2026 Discovery
To create 2026 Discovery, a blend of three bourbons aged 7, 10 and 11 years were rested for four months in garryana oak barrels. Each barrel was custom-made and hand toasted for three hours by Oregon Barrel Works to unlock additional layers of spice and complexity. Summer aging was chosen for maximum extraction, and the whiskey was then gradually proofed to 112.8 proof (66.4% ABV) before bottling.
The recipe for 2026 Discovery follows:
| Blend | Origin | Age | Mashbill |
|---|---|---|---|
| 55% | Indiana | 10 Years | 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley |
| 25% | Kentucky | 11 Years | 74% Corn, 18% Rye, 8% Malted Barley |
| 20% | Kentucky | 7 Years | 74% Corn, 16% Rye, 10% Malted Barley |
2026 Discovery is described as having aromas of “toasted oak, burnt sugar, and baked apple cobbler.” The palate exhibits notes of “dried cherry and cinnamon bark,” leading to a “long, warming finish accented by the distinctive influence of Garryana oak.”
Bardstown Bourbon Company Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish
To create Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish, a bespoke blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskey was finished for 32 months in Single Malt Scotch Whisky barrels – 84% ex-bourbon and 16% ex-Sherry – sourced from the Isle of Jura. The finished whiskies were then married and bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV).
The recipe for Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish follows:
| Blend | Origin | Age | Mashbill |
|---|---|---|---|
| 49% | Indiana | 11 Years | 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley |
| 30% | Indiana | 10 Years | 95% Rye, 5% Malted Barley |
| 21% | Kentucky | 12 Years | 75% Corn, 13% Rye, 12% Malted Barley |
Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish is described as having aromas of “vanilla crème with blackberry compote and mint surrounded by toasted oak and cigar box.” The palate exhibits notes of “fresh spearmint, caramel, and light cinnamon spice.” It concludes with “fruit-forward sherry notes that round out a beautifully complex finish.”
Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery 2026 and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish will be available nationwide in limited quantities beginning August 21, 2026 for a suggested retail price of $139.99 for each 750 mL bottle.
