Diageo has announced nine out of ten bottlings from their Special Releases collection for 2018, and for the first time since the Special Releases launched in 2001, there won’t be a Brora or Port Ellen bottling among the line-up.
On the heels of last weeks discovery of new Weller labels submitted to the TTB, Buffalo Trace Distillery has officially unveiled plans to release a new, limited edition Weller, dubbed Craft Your Perfect Bourbon, or C.Y.P.B. One batch of Weller C.Y.P.B. will be released each year beginning summer 2018.

Labels submitted to the TTB have revealed The Balvenie distillery’s plan to release The Balvenie DoubleWood Aged 25 Years, a limited edition bottling to mark the 25th anniversary of The Balvenie DoubleWood.
The Glenlivet appears to be planning a successor (and stateside release) to Cipher, as a label submission for The Glenlivet Code was recently discovered on the TTB website. Like it’s predecessor, it will be bottled at 48% ABV and presumably non-chill filtered.
The limited-edition Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series is to be released each spring and fall for the next five years, launching this spring with an 11 year old bottled in a 1950’s Old Fitzgerald inspired decanter.
Highland Park has released their latest limited edition bottling, The Dark 17 Year Old. Matured in sherry seasoned European oak casks and bottled at 52.9% ABV, this release is limited to 28,000 bottles and is the first of two whiskies created to celebrate the contrasting island seasons on Orkney.
Laphroaig Cairdeas Fino Cask Finish, a single malt whisky double maturated in first fill ex-bourbon casks and Fino Sherry casks, has been revealed as 2018’s bottling of the annual Laphroaig Cairdeas release.
