The Glenrothes Announces Release of The 15
The Glenrothes has announced the U.S. release of the latest permanent addition to its whisky portfolio: The 15.
The Glenrothes 15 is matured for 15 years in European oak sherry seasoned casks, custom made and seasoned to specification in Spain. The 15 is bottled of natural color at 43% ABV and housed in a dual-layered cylinder that unfolds to reveal the bottle within.
Official tasting notes for The Glenrothes 15 follow:
Nose: Dark brown sugar, baked orchard fruits and bright spice – cinnamon, allspice and star anise. Sweet and creamy hazelnut praline, complemented by the tang of candied orange peel and a touch of maple syrup. A backbone of toasted oak and soft worn leather adds depth and complexity.
Palate: Caramelised pears, dark chocolate and sweet baking spices – cinnamon, clove and cardamom. Pecan pie, crystalised ginger and orange marmalade. Soft, rich and mouth-coating.
Finish: Rich, sweet and silky with lingering bright spice.
The Glenrothes 15 is available now for a suggested retail price of $100 for a 700 mL bottle.
