It appears as though The Macallan will be turning Classic Cut into an annual release. Labels submitted to the TTB have revealed The Macallan Classic Cut 2018 Limited Edition, matured exclusively in sherry seasoned oak casks, bottled at 51.2% ABV, and described as having notes of “citrus, sweet vanilla and spice.”
Benromach has released a new, limited edition bottling in celebration of their 20th anniversary since resuming distilling. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2018, Benromach 20th Anniversary has been matured entirely in first fill oak casks, yielding only 3,000 bottles at a cask strength of 56.2% ABV.
The next release in Glenfiddich’s Experimental Series has been leaked through a TTB submission. Dubbed Glenfiddich Fire & Cane, this experiment will be compromised of a “smoky whisky finished in sweet rum casks”, with notes of “campfire smokiness and toffee sweetness.”
