The GlenAllachie Distillery Launches Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2024 Edition

The GlenAllachie Distillery has unveiled the 2024 Edition of Meikle Tòir The Turbo.
Meikle Tòir, which means ‘big pursuit’, represents Master Distiller Billy Walker and his team’s seasonal peated campaign at The GlenAllachie, which began in 2018. Using mainland peat from St. Fergus, the peated production runs for around six weeks per year, producing approximately 100,000 liters of alcohol annually.
Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2024 Edition is a marriage of five American virgin oak casks and four Oloroso hogsheads. The 2024 Edition carries a five-year age statement and is presented without added colouring and is non-chill filtered and bottled at 50% ABV, yielding just 2,200 bottles. The phenolic content of the spirit at the point of bottling was 70 PPM (Parts Per Million).
Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2024 Edition is described as having a nose of “smoked blood orange, cinnamon spice and manuka honey, with bursts of rich dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts,” and tastes of “worn leather, baking spices and cigar box, followed by honey, hazelnuts and dried red berries, with burnt orange peel and salted caramel.”
Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2024 Edition is available worldwide beginning today and carries a UK RRSP of £55.99.
