Bruichladdich has launched Black Art Edition 11.1, the eleventh release in the limited edition Black Art series and the seventh by Head Distiller Adam Hannett.

Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 11.1 is a 1994 vintage of unpeated single malt Scotch whiskies matured entirely on Islay for 24 years. As with all Black Art releases, the type of casks used in the vatting are not being revealed and the recipe is known only to Adam Hannett.

Official tasting notes for Black Art Edition 11.1 follow:

Dried fruits, leather and a hint of citrus are immediate on the nose, followed by a delicate bouquet of rose hip syrup, poached pear, and sweet mango. On the palate, dried fruits, barley sugar, a hint of leather and toasted oak give way to velvety butterscotch sweetness, balanced with nutty praline and hints of coconut. Beautifully rounded, the single malt’s smooth finish is reminiscent of a rich Christmas cake, with notes of sultanas, marzipan and lingering honey.

Presented non-chill filtered and coloring free and bottled at 44.2% ABV, Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 11.1 is available now at bruichladdich.com and select retailers for a suggested retail price of $549.99.
