The Macallan Classic Cut Submitted for TTB Approval
We recently heard a rumor about Macallan having plans to re-release The Macallan Cask Strength this summer. Considering the popularity of the original release, and the fact that it’s already late June, we started questioning if there was any truth to those rumors, and if so, why Macallan had yet to officially announce the bottle or a release date.
After digging around the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) website, we stumbled upon a recent entry for “The Macallan Classic Cut”, a 2017 limited edition bottled at 58.4%. All signs point to this being the bottle we’ve been hearing about, though it appears Macallan will be re-releasing it under a different name.
Whether or not The Macallan Classic Cut makes it’s originally rumored Summer 2017 release date remains to be seen. Expect an official announcement from Macallan shortly before it hits store shelves.
