Bruichladdich Launches Octomore 17 Series
Bruichladdich Distillery has launched the 17th series in it’s super heavily peated Octomore brand with a line-up consisting of Octomore 17.1, 17.2, 17.3, and 17.4.
Octomore 17.1:
- Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
- Distilled in 2020 from the 2019 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley.
- Full term maturation in first-fill Bourbon barrels.
- Peated to 81.0 PPM (Parts Per Million).
- Bottled at 59.7% ABV.
Octomore 17.2:
- Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
- Distilled in 2020 from the 2019 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley.
- Matured four years in second-fill French oak that previously held Californian red wine, then bourbon before Octomore. The spirit was then finished in first-fill Port barriques.
- Peated to 81.0 PPM.
- Bottled at 59.5% ABV.
Octomore 17.3:
- Matured entirely on Islay for five years.
- Distilled in 2020 from the 2019 harvest of 100% Islay Concerto Barley from Irene’s Field, Octomore Farm.
- Full-term maturation in first-fill Bourbon barrels and second-fill European oak that includes Ribera Del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein, and Syrah.
- Peated to 132.1 PPM.
- Bottled at 60.9% ABV.
Octomore 17.4:
- Matured entirely on Islay for seven years.
- Distilled in 2020 from the 2019 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley.
- Matured in first-fill Oloroso and finished in French Virgin Oak.
- Peated to 108.2 PPM.
- Bottled at 62.6% ABV.
All four Octomores are bottled un-chill filtered and coloring free. Octomore 17.1, 17.2, and 17.3 are available now at select retailers and online at bruichladdich.com. Octomore 17.4 will launch on October 1st, 2026 to complete the series.
