Bruichladdich Launches The Laddie Rye Exclusively in the U.S.

Bruichladdich Distillery has unveiled The Laddie Rye, a limited edition rye whisky exclusively available in the United States.
The Laddie Rye builds off Head Distiller Adam Hannett’s work on The Regeneration Project, the world’s first Islay Rye Whisky.
The Laddie Rye was distilled from 55% Islay rye, grown and harvested at Coull Farm, and 45% Islay malting barley, cultivated by multiple local farming partners in 2016 all within an 11 mile radius of Bruichladdich Distillery. The spirit was aged for seven years in a mix of first fill bourbon barrels and first fill virgin American oak casks which were toasted rather than charred. The Laddie Rye is bottled non-chill filtered and coloring free at 50% ABV.
The Laddie Rye is described as having aromas of “liquorice, ground ginger, cracked black pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg, with a delicate herbaceous undertone.” The palate exhibits notes of “black pepper, warming spices, honey, vanilla, and fudge.” It finishes with “warming spice that gives way to fruity and floral notes and mellow toasted oak.”
Bruichladdich The Laddie Rye is now available at select U.S. retailers for a suggested retail price of $60.00.
