Benriach has announced the launch of Malting Season Fourth Edition, the final release in its series produced entirely using barley malted from the Benriach distillery’s floor maltings.

The Fourth Edition of Benriach Malting Season has been crafted from concerto barley hand malted at the Benriach distillery during 2014, 2013, and 2012. Malting Season Fourth Edition has been matured in first fill Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for 10 years – the oldest in the collection – and is bottled at 47.9% ABV.

Benriach Malting Season Fourth Edition is described as having aromas of “barley sugar, chocolate honeycomb, caramel latte, sweet apricot, and almond biscotti with a twist of orange peel.” The palate exhibits notes of “crème caramel, cinnamon poached apple, and juicy baked peach,” finishing with “orange blossom honey and almond.”

Benriach Malting Season Fourth Edition carries a suggested retail price of £110 and will be available exclusively during The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival (April 30–May 5), before becoming available globally in the coming months.
