Scapa has unveiled its new signature range – its first-ever collection of aged single malts – alongside a packaging redesign.

The signature range debuts with new 10, 16, and 21 year old single malts crafted by Scapa Head Distiller Mick Swanney. All three whiskies were distilled from unpeated malted barley, produced using a long fermentation period, and matured in first-fill American oak casks before being bottled non-chill filtered at 48% ABV.

Scapa 10 Year Old is described as having aromas of “fresh slices of pineapple and mango ice cream leading into moreish crème brûlée, honey-topped pancakes, and cinnamon buns with a hint of citrus peel.” The palate exhibits notes of “apple stewed with warming spices and served with vanilla custard pairs with hints of banana, charred oak, and milk chocolate.” The finish is “fruity and spiced.”

Scapa 16 Year Old is described as having aromas of “juicy mangoes and aromatic, luxurious leather combining with vanilla cream and hints of clementine peel.” The palate is “silky and creamy, with notes of spiced apple pie, vanilla fudge, smooth oak, and pineapple baked with mulled spices.” The finish is “complex, fruity, and slightly spiced.”

Scapa 21 Year Old is described as having aromas of “homemade apricot jam with fresh raspberries drizzled over ripe bananas and whipped cream, and hints of aromatic oak and subtle netmeg.” The palate exhibits notes of “fresh peaches and mangoes wrapped in vanilla cream and condensed milk, with sprinklings of shortbread spiced with cardamon and cinnamon.” The finish is “sweet and syrupy.”

Each expression in the collection is housed in a new bottle with a distinctive shape and a presentation box that is reminiscent of the natural beauty of the Scapa Distillery’s coastal surroundings. The color palette of the new packaging is reflective of the hues of the area’s wild waters and unique landscape, darkening in shade as the range increases in age.

Scapa 10 Year Old, 16 Year Old, and 21 Year Old are now available in global markets for a recommended retail price of €60, €120, and €300, respectively.
