GlenAllachie Announces Batch 8 of UK Exclusive Single Cask Expressions
The GlenAllachie Distillery has announced Batch 8 of The GlenAllachie Single Cask expressions bottled exclusively for the UK market.
The Batch 8 single casks consist of three single malts selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker, bottled non-chill filtered, of natural color, and at cask strength.
The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Cask #804024 Oloroso Puncheon
Distilled on December 3, 2010 and aged for 12 years in an Oloroso Sherry puncheon before being bottled at a cask strength of 61.7% ABV in February 2023, yielding 719 bottles. It’s described as having aromas of “heather honey, fruit & nut chocolate, ginger, baking spices, espresso, and vanilla.” The palate exhibits notes of “nutmeg, hazelnuts, and butterscotch,” concluding with “apple peel, chocolate shavings, and dark roast coffee” on the finish. The GlenAllachie 14 Year Old Cask #6894 Chinquapin Barrel
Distilled on June 30, 2008 and aged for 14 years in a Chinquapin barrel before being bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV in February 2023, yielding 259 bottles. It’s described as having aromas of “toasted oats, liquorice, and heather honey, with hints of cardamom, black truffle and ginger snaps.” The palate exhibits notes of “spiced heather honey, aniseed, strawberry jam, walnut, and pecan,” concluding with “ginger and cinnamon” on the finish. The GlenAllachie 13 Year Old Cask #804970 Pedro Ximénez Hogshead
Distilled on March 18, 2009, and aged for 13 years in a Pedro Ximénez hogshead before being bottled at a cask strength of 57.7% ABV in February 2023, yielding 350 bottles. It’s described as having aromas of “baking spices, chocolate, heather honey, citrus, ginger, and truffle oil.” The palate exhibits notes of “chocolate buttercream, plum jam, treacle, crystalised ginger, bananas, and cinnamon,” concluding with “caramel” on the finish. RRSP £115.
Batch 8 of The GlenAllachie UK Single Casks will be available at retailers across the UK and at The GlenAllachie Visitor Centre Shop.
