Sovereign Brands Launches The Deacon Blended Scotch Whisky
Wine and spirits company Sovereign Brands has announced the launch of The Deacon, a Blended Scotch Whisky created in collaboration with Pernod Ricard.
Created with smoky Speyside and peaty Islay malt whiskies, The Deacon is described as having aromas of “charred orange, sweet malty biscuits, and woodsmoke.” The nose gives way to notes of “juicy orange, delicate spice, and tangy peat” on the palate, concluding with a “smoky, sweet, long, and smooth” finish.
The Deacon is presented in an embossed, copper bottle inspired by the copper pot stills used in the whisky distillation process, with an illustrated label depicting a plague doctor that Sovereign Brands refers to as The Deacon, a Scottish term used for “an adept and proficient master tradesman.”
The Deacon is bottled at 40% ABV and carries a suggested retail price of $39.99. Interested consumers can sign up on The Deacon website to be notified of when The Deacon will be released near them.
