Compass Box Announces Delos Blended Scotch Whisky

Compass Box Delos

Compass Box has announced Delos Blended Scotch Whisky, the second release in the Extinct Blends Quartet. The limited edition series pays homage to certain styles of Scotch from the past, reflecting the production methods and philosophies that prevailed in Scotland during specific eras.

Compass Box Delos is a reimagining of Compass Box Asyla, a blended Scotch whisky created in 2001 that served as a cornerstone in the Compass Box core range until it’s discontinuation in 2018.

The recipe for Compass Box Delos follows:

  • Imperial single malt matured in a First Fill Bourbon Barrel (33.4%)
  • Glen Elgin single malt matured in a Recharred American Oak Barrel (28.5%)
  • Miltonduff single malt matured in a First Fill Bourbon Barrel (21.2%)
  • Cameronbridge single grain matured in a First Fill Bourbon Barrel (16.9%)

Bottled non chill-filtered and of natural color at 49% ABV, Compass Box Delos is described as having aromas of “ripe pear, pineapple, orange oil, and vanilla cream.” The palate exhibits “a medley of fruit tarts and white chocolate,” concluding with “guava, heather honey, and chai spices” on the finish.

Limited to 5,520 bottles worldwide, Compass Box Delos will arrive in stores beginning this month and carries a suggested retail price of $325.
