Benriach Relaunches The Sixteen

Benriach The Sixteen

Benriach has announced the return of The Sixteen to it’s portfolio of single malt Scotch whiskies. Discontinued in 2016, the return of the whisky bridges the gap between the 12 year old (The Twelve) and 21 year old (The Twenty One) expressions.

Benriach The Sixteen is created from a new recipe and has been three cask matured in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and virgin oak and bottled at 43% ABV.

Benriach The Sixteen is described as having aromas of “baked apple and creamy hazelnut malt with overtones of ginger-spiced apricot and honey,” with notes of “spiced stewed apple, stone fruit and mellow nutty oak, with honeyed malt and candied peel” on the palate.

Benriach The Sixteen will be rolling out to select global markets beginning this month and carries a suggested retail price of £72.
