Benriach Launches Inaugural NFT
Benriach has announced the launch of its inaugural NFT with a twinset featuring two bottles: Benriach The Forty and Benriach The Forty Octave Cask Matured.
Benriach The Forty is composed of peated spirit matured in bourbon and port casks for 40 years and bottled at 43.5% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “sweet orange, plum, honey pomelo, dark chocolate coated berries, walnut, and cherry liqueur.” The palate has notes of “morello cherry, soft nectarine, stewed red apple, and white peach,” concluding with a “lingering” finish of “velvety walnut and kumquat.”
Benriach The Forty Octave Cask Matured is composed of unpeated spirit matured in octave casks (crafted from the staves of ex-bourbon casks) for 40 years and bottled at 51.5% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “sweet plum, cherry, honey glazed red apple, aromatic sandalwood, ripe fig, and sultana.” The palate has notes of “ripe plum, pear, dark berries, cedarwood, and silken oak,” concluding with “cocoa and blackberry” on the finish.
The Benriach twinset is limited to 10 NFTs and is available now on BlockBar.com for $8,000 (approximately 6.25 ETH at the time of writing).
Upon purchase of the NFT, the cryptographic version will be held securely by BlockBar.com, with a record of authenticity held on the blockchain as a digital certificate of ownership. Each NFT will represent a set of physical bottles – one Benriach The Forty and one Benriach The Forty Octave Cask Matured – available to be redeemed from BlockBar’s secure storage facility, safely trade within the BlockBar marketplace, keep in their virtual bar, or gift through BlockBar’s gifting platform.
