GlenAllachie Announces Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy Future Edition
The GlenAllachie Distillers Company has announced the third and final release in The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy, a limited edition series that celebrates Master Distiller Billy Walker’s 50 year career in the Scotch whisky industry.
The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy consists of Past, Present, and Future Editions, each representing key milestones throughout Walker’s career. The third release, The GlenAllachie Future Edition, is a 4 year old peated single malt matured in Rye barrels, Bourbon barrels, and virgin oak casks, bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at a cask strength of 60.2% ABV. The Future Edition is GlenAllachie’s first peated release and the first ever distillate produced under Billy Walker’s ownership of The GlenAllachie Distillery.
The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Future Edition is described as having aromas of “honeycomb, dried fruits, and hazelnut, with hints of smouldering oak, dark chocolate, and warm cinnamon apples.” The palate exhibits notes of “cinnamon stewed pears, toasted almonds, heather honey, and pipe tobacco, followed by smoked barley, vanilla toffee, and orchard fruits.”
Limited to only 10,000 bottles, The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Future Edition is now available globally and carries a suggested retail price of £80.
