GlenAllachie Announces Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy Past Edition
The GlenAllachie Distillers Company has announced The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy, a limited edition series that celebrates Master Distiller Billy Walker’s 50 year career in the Scotch whisky industry.
The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Trilogy will consist of Past, Present, and Future Editions, each representing key milestones throughout Walker’s career. The first release, The GlenAllachie Past Edition, is a fully Sherry matured 16 year old single malt that represents Walker’s past, when he made a name for himself by releasing heavily Sherried expressions to great acclaim. The GlenAllachie Past Edition combines nine 2005 vintage Spanish Sherry butts personally selected by Walker, bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at a cask strength of 57.1% ABV.
The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Past Edition is described as having aromas of “walnuts, heather honey, dried fruits, toasted coffee, orange peel, and cinnamon sticks.” The palate exhibits notes of “fig syrup, caramelized muscovado sugar, roasted pine nuts, heather honey, crystalized ginger, and dried apricots.”
Limited to only 4,000 bottles, The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Past Edition is now available globally and carries a suggested retail price of £225.
