Michter’s Master Distiller Emeritus Willie Pratt Has Passed Away
Michter’s Master Distiller Emeritus Willie Pratt passed away on December 27, 2020. Born in 1942, Willie joined Brown-Foreman at the age of 20 and spent over four decades working in a variety of positions for the distillery until he retired at the age of 65.
In 2007, still at the age of 65, Willie would come out his short retirement to join Michter’s as its Master Distiller, where he would oversee the Michter’s production program and design and construction of the Michter’s Shively Distillery. Willie would transition to a reduced schedule in 2016, staying onboard as the company’s Master Distiller Emeritus and remained actively involved in Michter’s production until his passing.
