Orphan Barrel Launches Night Sage Blended Canadian Whisky Aged 25 Years
Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co. has announced the 25th release in the Orphan Barrel Collection: Orphan Barrel Night Sage, a 25 Year Old Blended Canadian Whisky.
Night Sage features liquid that was distilled in Ontario and Manitoba and matured in two different barrel types – first-dump oak barrels, used only once prior, and multi-use barrels, both of which previously held other Canadian whisky.
Bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof), Night Sage is described as having aromas of “butterscotch, vanilla, and gently toasted oak.” The palate is “layered with brown sugar, golden toffee, walnut, and fig.” The finish is “warm and lingering, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and oak.”
Orphan Barrel Night Sage is available in limited quantities for a suggested retail price of $225 for a 750 mL bottle.
