Laphroaig Launches Càirdeas Port & Wine Casks
Laphroaig Càirdeas Port & Wine Casks has been announced as 2020’s bottling of the annual Laphroaig Càirdeas release. Laphroaig Càirdeas Port & Wine Casks is a marriage of whisky fully matured in second-fill Ruby Port barriques and whisky double matured in ex-bourbon barrels followed by red wine casks.
Laphroaig Càirdeas Port & Wine Casks is described as having aromas of “dark chocolate and menthol with pink peppercorns”, with notes of “toasted peaches, charred marshmallows, and a hint of plum jam intertwined with Laphroaig’s iodine rich peat smoke” on the palate.
Laphroaig Càirdeas Port & Wine Casks is bottled NCF (Non-Chill Filtered) at 52% ABV and is available now on Laphroaig.com, with a retail release to follow in the coming months.
