Independent bottlers Douglas Laing & Co – who acquired Strathearn Distillery in 2019 and had been working to re-launch the brand – have announced the global release of their inaugural bottling of Strathearn Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Strathearn Single Malt Scotch Whisky undergoes a fermentation time lasting 144 hours and is distilled exclusively from Maris Otter malt. This release is crafted from 32 casks of spirit – ex-Bourbon, Virgin, and ex-Sherry oak – some of which were inherited when Douglas Laing acquired the Strathearn Distillery, and a portion of which contain spirit distilled under Douglas Laing ownership.

Bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with no added coloring, Strathearn Single Malt Scotch Whisky is described as exhibiting “a syrupy palate that coats the mouth in sweet notes of honey, buttercream, and dried apricots with a hint of spice,” concluding with a “warming finish reminiscent of home baking and indulgent buttery oat biscuits that invite you back for another sip.”

Strathearn Single Malt Scotch Whisky carries a recommended retail price of £85 and is now available for purchase at douglaslaing.com and at select retailers across the UK and Europe. A release in Asia, Canada, and the U.S. will follow in mid-May.
