Kilchoman has released their first limited edition bottles of the year – 2018 editions of Port Cask Matured and Loch Gorm. This is only the second Port Cask Matured release from Kilchoman, with the first released in 2014.
Labels submitted to the TTB have revealed The Balvenie distillery’s plan to release The Balvenie DoubleWood Aged 25 Years, a limited edition bottling to mark the 25th anniversary of The Balvenie DoubleWood.
The Glenlivet appears to be planning a successor (and stateside release) to Cipher, as a label submission for The Glenlivet Code was recently discovered on the TTB website. Like it’s predecessor, it will be bottled at 48% ABV and presumably non-chill filtered.
Highland Park has released their latest limited edition bottling, The Dark 17 Year Old. Matured in sherry seasoned European oak casks and bottled at 52.9% ABV, this release is limited to 28,000 bottles and is the first of two whiskies created to celebrate the contrasting island seasons on Orkney.
Laphroaig Cairdeas Fino Cask Finish, a single malt whisky double maturated in first fill ex-bourbon casks and Fino Sherry casks, has been revealed as 2018’s bottling of the annual Laphroaig Cairdeas release.
Diageo has announced that Lagavulin 8 Year Old, originally released as a limited edition to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary, will be joining the Lagavulin family permanently.
