Diageo Launches 2019 Special Releases Collection

The third and final installment in the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series will highlight the now defunct Glenury distillery.

Diageo has officially unveiled the Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection, a set of eight whiskies intended to “honor the great houses and the Night’s Watch” with single malts from Cardhu, Clynelish, Dalwhinnie, Glendullan, Lagavulin, Oban, Royal Lochnagar, and Talisker.

Diageo has revealed Cladach, the 10th and final bottling among their 2018 Special Releases. Gaelic for the word “shoreline”, Cladach is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky comprised of single malts from six coastal distilleries.

Diageo is releasing a trio of new Mortlach expressions intended to replace the existing Mortlach Rare Old, Mortlach 18 Year Old, and Mortlach 25 Year Old.

It appears the Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection will be comprised of existing whiskies from Cardhu, Dalwhinnie, and Royal Lochnagar, alongside new releases from Clynelish, Glendullan, Lagavulin, Oban, and Talisker.

A teaser posted to Twitter has revealed The Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection, a set of eight single malt whiskies from Cardhu, Clynelish, Dalwhinnie, Glendullan, Lagavulin, Oban, Royal Lochnagar, and Talisker.

Diageo will be releasing a trio of new, age-stated Mortlach expressions: Mortlach 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie, Mortlach 16 Year Old Distiller’s Dram, and Mortlach 20 Year Old Cowie’s Blue Seal.

The second Ghost and Rare release will be a blend of Caledonian, Carsebridge, Port Ellen, Mortlach, Dailuaine, Cragganmore, Blair Athol, and Oban.
