Highland Park Partners With Laila Gohar for Second Edition of ”Between You and I” Series
Highland Park has unveiled the second edition of ”Between You and I,” a series created in collaboration with leading talents from the worlds of food, art, and fashion.
For the second edition of “Between You and I,” Highland Park has partnered with Laila Gohar – a New York–based artist and creative director known for transforming edible materials into sculptural compositions – to create two limited edition 17 year old single malts.
Highland Park Between You and I by Laila Gohar was matured for 11 years in refill casks, then finished in unseasoned American oak for 6 years and bottled at 48.8% ABV. It’s described as “an invigorating take on the classic taste of Highland Park, with vibrant notes of fruit, spice and creamy vanilla.”
Highland Park Between You and I: Journeys by Laila Gohar was matured in ex-bourbon casks, sherry-seasoned casks, and new Spanish oak and bottled at 48.8% ABV. It’s described as exhibiting flavors of “decadent vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, tannins, and spices.”
Laila Gohar used the whiskies flavor profiles as the inspiration for their creative identity. Her interpretation informed the bespoke packaging, co-created with Highland Park, which combines hand-drawn illustrations by Silja Goetz with layered visual references inspired by Gohar’s sensory response to the whisky. Inside each pack, a booklet replaces conventional tasting notes with a series of evocative vignettes written by Gohar, inviting consumers to explore the whisky not just with taste buds but with the imagination.
