The Macallan Reveals Final Chapter in The Harmony Collection

The Macallan has unveiled two new expressions that form the sixth and final edition of The Harmony Collection: Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut.
Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut were both matured in a combination of sherry seasoned American oak casks and casks that previously held bourbon. The Macallan claims that the natural properties of American oak heighten the presence of coconut notes, while the cask combination ensures balance, allowing this character to come through with clarity.
Inspired by Fresh Coconut is bottled at 46.3% ABV and described as having aromas of “fresh coconut, zesty lime, citrus notes of lemon and orange, tropical mango and papaya, layered with vanilla, almond, sweet oak, and a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon.” The palate exhibits notes of “sweet lime, lemon and vanilla sponge with desiccated coconut, icing sugar, coconut milk, and sweet oak with dried tropical fruits.” It finishes with “bursts of coconut and floral honey.”
Inspired by Toasted Coconut is bottled at 43.3% ABV and described as having aromas of “Toasted coconut, crème caramel, white chocolate, vanilla bean, pink grapefruit, lemon zest, shea butter, and subtle sweet cardamom.” The palate exhibits notes of “coconut truffle, charred pineapple, lime marmalade, grapefruit, frangipane, meringue, and toasted oak.” It finishes with “sweet tropical fruits and toasted oak.”
In keeping with the collection’s ethos of material innovation, the presentation boxes for both whiskies are crafted using discarded coconut fibers, transformed through an emission-free process into a richly textured material with a natural black hue.
