Isle of Raasay Distillery Unveils Rye Cask 3.4x Distilled Single Cask Release

Isle of Raasay Distillery has unveiled a new single cask release: Rye Cask 3.4x Distilled.
This release was produced using a rare still configuration unique to the distillery, featuring a purifier on the spirit still that can be switched on or off during distillation. Described by Raasay as a ‘virtual third still’, the additional copper contact creates a lighter, fruit-forward spirit that’s noticeably different from the distillery’s signature lightly peated style.
On June 25, 2019, the distillate was filled into an ex-Rye cask sourced from Woodford Reserve. It was bottled in May 2026 and is presented of natural color, non-chill filtered, and at a cask strength of 59% ABV.
Isle of Raasay Rye Cask 3.4x Distilled is described as having aromas of “honeydew melon, pear, and green apple.” The palate exhibits notes of “caramel and buttery toffee, banana, and stewed apple.” It finishes with “sweet oak, lingering butter toffee, and gentle spice.”
Isle of Raasay Rye Cask 3.4x Distilled is limited to just 246 bottles and is available now via Isle of Raasay Distillery’s website for £95.
