Review: Paul John Christmas Edition 2024

Paul John Christmas Edition is an annual limited release by Paul John Indian Single Malt Whisky in Goa, India.
Each release of Paul John Christmas Edition, which launched in 2018, is created from a unique combination of stocks. Past editions have made use of peated and unpeated malt matured in a range of casks, including ex-Bourbon oak, virgin oak, Oloroso Sherry, PX Sherry, Port, Madeira, and Brandy casks.
The seventh release in the series, Paul John Christmas Edition 2024, is an unpeated expression that marries malt finished in Caribbean Rum casks with malt matured in virgin oak casks, and is presented without chill-filtration, coloring, or flavoring at 46% ABV.

Paul John Christmas Edition 2024 is a great addition to the series. If you’re a fan of Paul John, Indian whisky in general, or are just looking for a Christmas themed bottle to share during the holidays, this is worth picking up.
In some markets, you may still be able to find some of the older releases in the series. If you can, I recommend you grab those, too. With each release of Paul John Christmas Edition making use of a unique combination of stocks, one could have some fun sampling multiple releases side by side and comparing the influence of the casks on the distillate.
Rating: B (83–86%).
