Sagamore Spirit Debuts Its First High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Sagamore Spirit has announced the release of its first bourbon and the newest expression in its Reserve Series: Sagamore Spirit High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
This limited edition Maryland-made high rye straight bourbon whiskey features a mash bill of 60% corn, 25% rye, and 15% malted rye, aged for 6 years in new charred American white oak barrels and bottled at 59% ABV.
Sagamore Spirits High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey is described as having aromas of “cornbread, fresh apricots, walnut shells, ginger-spiced vanilla and warm tobacco.” The palate exhibits notes of “caramel and turbinado sugar combined with bright orchard fruit and ground cinnamon.” It concludes with “a lingering bitter espresso and rye spice finish.”
Sagamore Spirit High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey is rolling out in Maryland this month for a suggested retail price of $49 and can be purchased either at the Sagamore Spirit’s distillery in Baltimore or select retailers throughout Baltimore, Maryland.
