Russell’s Reserve Launches Single Rickhouse Collection 2025 Release, Camp Nelson E

Russell’s Reserve has announced the launch of Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E, the fourth installment in its series exploring the contributions specific barrel resting places have on a whiskey’s final character.
Built in 1946, Camp Nelson Rickhouse E is located closer to the Kentucky River than the other rickhouses on the Camp Nelson campus. Camp Nelson E runs North-South along the river, subjecting it to different wind patterns off the river and more consistent shading throughout the year. Its unique positioning, deeper-set on the property, and dirt-floor “basement” level creates one of the coolest microclimates on the grounds – a stark contrast to the sun-drenched heights of Camp Nelson B from last year’s release.
For the 2025 release, Master Distiller Eddie Russell selected barrels exclusively from the fifth floor of the seven-story rickhouse, where the cooler environment allows for slower, more nuanced flavor development. Bottled non-chill filtered and at a barrel proof of 128 (64% ABV), Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E is the highest-proof Russell’s Reserve release to date.
Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E is described as having aromas of “vanilla, caramel, and maple, transitioning to figs, dried orange peel, cola, and toasted oak.” The palate exhibits “flavors of dried fruit, cherry, and mint, followed by graham cracker and nutmeg spice.” It concludes with “a warm and long-lasting finish with notes of sweet and oak and finish of molasses and hints of black pepper.”
Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E is now available at U.S. retailers for a suggested retail price of $300 per 750 mL bottle.
