Pursuit Spirits Announces Pursuit United Kodama Mizunara Bourbon
Pursuit Spirits has announced the release of Pursuit United Kodama Mizunara Bourbon.
To create this limited release, the Pursuit United team blended two lots of whiskey that share the same Triple Mash Bourbon base. The first lot was finished in Japanese Mizunara oak, a rare, expensive wood that imparts exotic spice and dry, woody notes. The second lot was finished in infrared-toasted American oak, a specially toasted wood that delivers an intense, high vanilla character, providing a creamy, sweet foundation to the blend, which is bottled at a cask strength of 117 proof (58.5% ABV).

Nose: An aromatic journey starting with a vibrant burst of fresh ginger and the sweetness of glazed pears, followed by a dry, woody note of sandalwood and a touch of exotic cardamom.
Taste: Rich and multifaceted, leading with the deep sweetness of brown sugar crumbles and a warmth from candied ginger. A savory, unique umami note provides contrast to the classic creamy French vanilla, completed by a zesty layer of orange marmalade.
Finish: Long and evolving, showcasing the dry, bittersweet character of cacao. A grounding presence of toasted oak and persistent sandalwood provides the backbone,culminating with some hot cinnamon candies.
