Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced the release of the 2025 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC). This year’s collection features the first new addition to the collection since 2006: Colonel E. H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon. The collection also includes new releases of Eagle Rare 17 Year Old, George T. Stagg, Sazerac 18 Year Old, Thomas H. Handy, and William Larue Weller.

Colonel E. H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon

Crafted from Buffalo Trace’s sour mash recipe, E. H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was aged for 15 years and 4 months and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) to meet Bottled-In-Bond standards. It’s described as having aromas of “warm vanilla, seasoned oak, charred undertones, and a drizzle of maple sweetness.” On the palate, “balanced sweetness and baking spices mingle with gentle wood notes.” It concludes with a “lingering finish that carries oak and vanilla into soft caramel with a hint of cherry.”

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old

The 2025 release of Eagle Rare 17 Year Old was distilled in the spring of 2007 and aged beyond its 17 year statement – maturing 18 years and 4 months. Presented at 101 proof (50.5% ABV), it’s described as having aromas of “dark tobacco and well-worn leather, accented by ripe cherry and a lively peppery edge.” The palate exhibits notes of “caramel sweetness intertwined with supple leather and bright cherry notes.” It finishes with “lasting oak, a touch of vanilla, and a gentle echo of sweetness.”

George T. Stagg

The 2025 release of George T. Stagg is comprised of barrels aged more than 15 years and 4 months and is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 142.8 proof (71.4% ABV). It’s described as having aromas of “deep oak accented by a touch of vanilla.” The palate exhibits notes of “bold vanilla layered with dark tobacco and ripe cherry.” It concludes with “a long, earthy finish with notes of tobacco, vanilla, and enduring oak.”

Sazerac 18 Year Old

The 2025 release of Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old is bottled at 18 years and 5 months old and presented at 90 proof (45% ABV). It’s described as having aromas of “bright rye spice layered with seasoned oak and a subtle herbaceous lift.” The palate exhibits “a mature balance of spice and oak, accented by woody richness and supple leather.” It concludes with a “lingering finish of rye spice, warm leather, caraway seed, and enduring oak.”

Thomas H. Handy

The 2025 release of Thomas H. Handy is crafted from barrels aged over six years and bottled at 129.8 proof (64.9% ABV). It’s described as having aromas of “lively oak and spice lifted by bright fruit and a light apple scent.” The palate exhibits notes of “bold spice and oak balanced with gentle fruit.” It concludes with a “long, warming finish of oak, vanilla, and spice.”

William Larue Weller

The barrels for the 2025 release of William Larue Weller were filled at an entry proof of 114 and aged for 14 years. Bottled uncut and unfiltered at 129 proof (64.5% ABV), this wheated recipe bourbon is described as having aromas of “vanilla, maple, and tobacco.” The palate “balances sweet vanilla with toasted oak.” It concludes with a “long finish that carries steady oak and vanilla alongside a touch of ripe fruit.”

The 2025 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection will be available in limited quantities starting this month for a suggested retail price of $149.99 each.
