North Carolina’s Oaklore Distilling Co. has announced the latest release in its limited edition Oaklore Story Series: Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Four Grain Bourbon.

Crafted by Oaklore at its sister distilleries in North Carolina and Kentucky, Oaklore Story Series: Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Four Grain Bourbon combines 5-6 year old barrels of wheated bourbon and rye bourbon mash bills, which are aged separately, hand-selected, and then batched together – producing a final mash bill of 70% corn, 10% rye, 10% wheat, and 10% malted barley. The batched whiskey was then re-barreled into Spanish Oloroso Sherry barrels for 12 to 18 months of additional aging.

Oaklore Story Series: Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Four Grain Bourbon is bottled at 95 proof (47.5% ABV) and presented non-chill filtered. It’s described as having aromas of “dried fig, raisin, and vintage wine.” The palate exhibits notes of “cherry bark, cocoa, and apricot.” It concludes with “a delightfully dry sherry finish.”

Oaklore Story Series: Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Four Grain Bourbon has a suggested retail price of $99.95 for a 750 mL bottle. Only 750 bottles are available for purchase across Oaklore’s website, the brand’s tasting room, and at select retailers across North Carolina.
