WhistlePig Whiskey has announced The BigShǝBàng Aged 30 Years, it’s oldest and rarest release to date.

As with WhistlePig The Béhôlden Aged 21 Years and The Badönkådonk Aged 25 Years, The BigShǝBàng was distilled from 100% malted barley at Glenora Distillery in Canada, the oldest single malt distillery in North America. Presented as a single barrel product bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV), each bottle of WhistlePig The BigShǝBàng represents a barrel of spirit aged in ex-Bourbon American oak for 30 years and finished in an oak barrel that previously held Vin Santo, an Italian dessert wine made from white grapes.

WhistlePig The BigShǝBàng is described as having aromas of “honeyed bread, wheat crust, and nuanced florality.” The palate exhibits flavors of “subtle clove, freshly kneaded dough, and honeysuckle,” concluding with “toasted cedar and echoing, delicate sweetness” on the finish.

WhistlePig The BigShǝBàng is available now at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4,999.99 for a 750 mL bottle. This year, only four barrels of The BigShǝBàng are available, accompanied by limited re-releases of The Beholden Aged 21 Years ($899.99) and The Badönkådonk Aged 25 Years ($1,999.99).
