Blue Run Spirits Announces Glimmer
Blue Run Spirits has announced the launch of Glimmer, a limited edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in gin barrels.
Crafted by Shaylyn Gammon, Coors Spirits Co. Head of Whiskey Development and Innovation, Glimmer is her first barrel-finished Bourbon release for Blue Run, and the second finished release for the brand. To create Glimmer, Gammon finished a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin barrels — toasted and charred American oak barrels that previously held a singular botanical gin for 7 to 12 months. Glimmer is presented at 103.2 proof (51.6% ABV).
Blue Run Glimmer is described as having aromas of “delicate botanicals with a hint of soft pine.” The palate exhibits “honeyed sweetness balanced by cardamom spice and subtle herbal tones.” It finishes with “harmonious barrel toast and char, with layers of cocoa-rich complexity.”
The Blue Run Glimmer bottle features a special iridescent effect in the glass purposely selected to compliment Gammon’s first finished whiskey release from Blue Run Spirits. Each bottle is adorned with a soft violet viceroy butterfly medallion complementing the prismatic effect of the glass.
Blue Run Glimmer is now available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $149.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
