Isle of Raasay Distillery Debuts Marsala Cask Limited Release

Isle of Raasay Distillery has announced the launch of its first ever Marsala cask matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Isle of Raasay Marsala Cask Limited Release was distilled from peated and unpeated spirit and fully matured on the island in Marsala Vergine DOC barrels from Frazzitta, one of Sicily’s oldest Marsala producers. This release was crafted from peated and unpeated stocks that were matured separately before being married together to produce a lightly peated whisky, and is bottled at 50.7% ABV.
Isle of Raasay Marsala Cask Limited Release is described as having aromas of “grape must, violet, nutty oxidative tones, and light sharpness.” The palate exhibits notes of “stewed apples, maple syrup, dried pear, ginger, and balsamic sweetness.” The finish is “long and gently smoky, with echoes of smoked toffee and dried apricots.”
The Marsala Cask Limited Release also features a new addition to the distillery’s packaging portfolio. The color scheme is inspired by the island’s geology and helps better differentiate the brand’s limited releases from its core range.
Isle of Raasay Marsala Cask is limited to just 12,300 bottles worldwide and is rolling out now to global retailers – the UK, the USA, Germany, France, Australia, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, and more. It’s also available for purchase on the Isle of Raasay website for £75.
