Isle of Harris Distillery Unveils Tidal Strength Gin and Croft Strength Whisky
Isle of Harris Distillery has unveiled two new Travel Retail exclusives: Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin and The Hearach Croft Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin is the first new gin from the distillery since the creation of the original expression in 2015. Isle of Harris claims that increasing the alcohol content from 45% ABV to 49.5% ABV has elevated the botanical complexity of the spirit and enhanced its maritime character.
Official tasting notes for Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin follow:
“All the well-loved Isle of Harris Gin flavours remain to the fore but with additional dryness from the juniper. This is offset by bolder botanical aromatics, particularly the fruit and floral notes with a spice which adds to the overall intensity. The maritime note is very refreshing alongside bracing sea side aromas and a citrusy sweet liquorice finish.”
The Hearach Croft Strength is a 52% ABV expression of the distillery’s flagship Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Made using lightly peated 100% Scottish barley and distilled with Outer Hebridean water, the whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and oloroso and fino sherry butts, prior to being bottled non-chill filtered and free from artificial coloring.

The Hearach Croft Strength reveals a layered nose of soft smoke, caramel, poached fruits, and warming spices. On the palate, the whisky is characterful yet smooth, with a rich interplay of spice, wood, and fruit, finishing with a mellow sweetness that endures.
Isle of Harris Tidal Strength Gin (£35.00 RRP) and The Hearach Croft Strength (£65.00 RRP) will be available to purchase exclusively at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow airports beginning July 2nd, 2025, with additional locations to come.
