The GlenAllachie Distillery has launched a limited edition series called Sinteis (pronounced sin-teesh). The new series is named after the Scottish Gaelic word for synthesis and is accompanied by the tagline “Two distinct casks. One harmonious synthesis.”

The first release, Sinteis Part I, is a 2014 vintage single malt aged in Chinquapin virgin oak and first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheons. Sinteis Part I is bottled without artificial coloring or chill filtration and presented at a cask strength of 57.8% ABV.

The GlenAllachie Sinteis Series Part 1 is described as having aromas of “liquorice, butterscotch, and grilled honeycomb, with candied orchard fruits, cocoa, and treacle tart.” The palate exhibits notes of “ginger, butterscotch, and candied lemon slices, followed by fig jam, blackberries, and molasses.” It finishes with “cinnamon spice and rich cocoa.”

Sinteis Part 1 is presented in packaging created by Scottish designer Kayley Barbour. The carton showcases a hand-drawn symbol in foil depicting the fusion of multiple wood types.

The GlenAllachie Sinteis Series Part 1 carries a suggested retail price of £74.99 and is available now at the distillery’s visitor centre and its online shop, and will become available worldwide in the coming weeks and months.
