Tobermory Distillery has announced the launch of Ledaig Hebridean Moon.

Ledaig Hebridean Moon is crafted using the first spirit drawn from Tobermory’s new stills, installed in 2014, and was matured for over a decade in second-fill ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at 58.8% ABV. The limited edition release is also Ledaig’s first-ever cask strength 10 year old single malt.

Official tasting notes for Ledaig Hebridean Moon follow:

Nose: An earthy smoke fades to reveal soft vanilla, double cream and candied fruit with a gentle spice and touch of cracked black pepper.

Palate: Packed full of citrus notes reminiscent of lemon drizzle cake, balanced with notes of fresh leather, tobacco and a hint of toasting oak.

Finish: A warm medicinal smoke lingers with a gentle cinnamon spice.

Ledaig Hebridean Moon is limited to 7,000 bottles and carries a recommended retail price of £85 for a 70 cL bottle. It’s available for purchase now at Tobermory Distillery and at tobermorydistillery.com, and will be available globally at select retailers beginning May 12th.
