Tobermory Distillery Launches Tobermory Hebridean Series 27 Year Old

Tobermory Distillery has launched the fifth and final installment in the Hebridean Series: Tobermory 27 Year Old.
The Hebridean Series is a collection of five limited-edition single malts – Tobermory 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 Year Old – each inspired by the rich heritage, landscapes, and maritime influences of the Isle of Mull. The final installment in the Hebridean Series was inspired by Duart Castle, which overlooks the Sound of Mull and is one of the last sights people see as they depart Mull, capturing the essence of farewell.
Tobermory 27 Year Old was initially matured in bourbon casks for 15 years, before undergoing a further 12 year finish in González Byass Sherry casks, and is bottled at 53.1% ABV.
Official tasting notes for Tobermory 27 Year Old follow:
Nose: Cinnamon pastries and dark black fruits. Sweet apricot and dried figs are joined by the earthy notes of toasted oak, all rounded off with a bright twist of orange zest.
Palate: A thick layer of marmalade spreads across the palate, complemented by warming cinnamon spice. The flavours unfold to reveal fig rolls, blackcurrant, and brambles, with a touch of honey-roasted nuts and a hint of treacle toffee.
Finish: The finish is steady and lasting, featuring red berry compote, fresh mandarins, and a pinch of nutmeg for good measure.
Tobermory 27 Year Old is limited to just 2,857 bottles globally and is available now for a recommended retail price of £395.
