Hidden Barn Announces 2024 Release of Madeira Finished Bourbon
Hidden Barn has announced the 2024 release of its Madeira finished bourbon.
Master Distiller Royce Neeley and Master Blender Jackie Zykan have named this year’s release Perfect Harmony, due to the balance between the bourbon and the residual Madeira left in the oak barrel.
Hidden Barn Perfect Harmony was created using bourbon distilled by Neeley from a mash bill of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley. After aging in new oak for six years, it was transferred to first-use Madeira barrels for an additional seven months, and then open-air vatted for several days allowing oxidation to occur and the entire batch to open up. Zykan then blended eight barrels to create Perfect Harmony.
Hidden Barn Perfect Harmony Madeira Finished Bourbon is presented at 99.9 proof (49.95% ABV) and described as exhibiting aromas of “toffee, overripe red fruits, apple pie, and oxidized rose.” The palate is “gorgeously dense and creamy, with full-bodied vanilla and a hint of raisin.” It finish “balances out the sweet viscosity with a slightly dry mint tone and notes of nutmeg and cardamom.”
Hidden Barn Perfect Harmony Madeira Finished Bourbon carries a suggested retail pricing of $89.99 and is available now at Neeley Family Distillery in Sparta, KY and online and at retail in California, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New Mexico, Nevada, and New York.
