Daftmill has announced the launch of Daftmill 2010 Cask Strength, the latest limited edition vintage release from the Lowland distillery.

The first Daftmill Cask Strength expression available in the United States is a 12 year old single malt Scotch aged in a selection of 15 first-fill ex-bourbon casks that were distilled between January and July 2010, yielding 2,400 bottles at 58.7% ABV.

Official tasting notes for Daftmill 2010 Cask Strength follow:

Nose: Lashings of vanilla essence and spiced custard, evolving over time into honeyed beeswax, sweet lemon candy, apricot jam, and hints of fresh cake dough.

Palate: Spicy oak balanced with fruitier distillate notes, giving way to caramelized brown sugar, toffee and hints of mashed banana and marzipan.

Finish: Dominant notes of wood spice with waves of warming cinnamon and dried ginger.

Daftmill 2010 Cask Strength will be exclusively available in the U.S. beginning this month at a suggested retail price of $324.99 for a 700 mL bottle.
