The Artisanal Spirits Company has announced its acquisition of independent bottling brand Single Cask Nation. The brand will join a portfolio which includes The Scotch Malt Whisky Society and J.G. Thomson.

Founded in 2011 by Jason Johnstone-Yellin and Joshua Hatton, Single Cask Nation sources, curates, and bottles single cask and limited edition whiskies and other spirits for sale both online and through specialty on-and off-premise accounts in eight markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Israel, and Canada.

Single Cask Nation will continue to operate independently with tactical support from the Artisanal Spirits Company’s team in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Johnstone-Yellin and Hatton will remain with the company and continue to lead the global business from their offices in the United States.

Whisky industry veteran Steve Hawley, current President of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission and former VP Global Marketing for Westland Distillery in Seattle, has also joined the Artisanal Spirits Company’s team to help grow and expand its business in the U.S. Hawley will work closely with Single Cask Nation to provide strategic and tactical support.
