Ardbeg Announces Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 5

Ardbeg has announced the launch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 5.
Produced in small batches from whisky matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and released annually, each batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan has differences in flavor profile. Batch 5 is described as being sweeter and more tropical compared to previous releases.
Official tasting notes for Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 5 follow:
Nose: Perfumed aromas of luscious tropical fruit flow on the breeze, while curious notes of herbal incense and smoke follow closely behind. Menthol lozenge and saddle soap laps over charred green pepper, before smoked mango, guava and coconut mingle in an effervescing top note.
Palate: A creamy mouthfeel leads the way into a crashing symphony of herbal, spicy flavors. Smoked maple cured bacon, charcoal, white pepper and clove rush forth amid gentle overtones of the outdoors in wood smoke and sea spray.
Finish: A satisfyingly long finish brings more tropical notes, with fragrant heather, warm toffee and smoked butter on the horizon.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 5 is bottled NCF (non-chill filtered) at 46.2% ABV and will be available beginning this month at a suggested retail price of $349.99.
