MacNair’s Launches Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2
MacNair’s Boutique House of Spirits, a brand owned by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company and curated by acclaimed blender Billy Walker, has announced the launch of Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2.
The second batch of Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength combines GlenAllachie single malt whisky with peated and unpeated single malts from Scotland’s Speyside and Islay regions. Once combined, the blend was filled into a mix Sherry, red wine, and virgin oak casks for an additional aging period, before be bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.8% ABV, without chill filtering or added coloring.
Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2 is described as having aromas of “grilled honeycomb, ginger, and vanilla, with cinnamon, campfire smoke, and treacle.” The palate is described as “bursting with dark chocolate, burnt orange peel, and honeycomb, followed by smoked spices, butterscotch, and roasted coffee beans,” concluding with notes of “ginger” on the finish.
MacNair’s Lum Reek 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2 will be available global beginning this month for a UK RRSP of £62.99.
