Teeling Whiskey Unveils Rising Reserve No. 1

Teeling Whiskey Rising Reserve No. 1

Teeling Whiskey has unveiled Rising Reserve, a limited edition series of Irish single malts created to celebrate the global renaissance of Irish whiskey. The Rising Reserve series is a follow-up to the Teeling Revival and Renaissance series’.

The first bottling in the Rising Reserve series is a 21 year old Irish single malt that was aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for over 16 years, before being finished in ex-Carcavelos White Port casks for over 5 years and bottled without chill filtration at 46% ABV.

Teeling Whiskey Rising Reserve No. 1 is described as having aromas of “green apples, honeyed citrus, and candyfloss,” with notes of “stewed fruits, caramel, wood tannins, and cinnamon spice” on the palate, concluding with a “long finish with wood notes and rich roasted cacao.”

Teeling Whiskey Rising Reserve No. 1 is limited to just 6,000 bottles and carries a suggested retail price of €225 for a 70 cL bottle. Rising Reserve No. 1 will be available in Ireland at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, The Celtic Whiskey Shop, and select Irish retailers this winter, with a global release to follow in 2023.

Carcavelos and Port (White or otherwise) are different wines, are you sure it’s Carcavelos Port?

      From the press release:

“…aged initially in ex-Bourbon barrels for over 16 years before being finished in high quality, unique ex-Carcavelos White Port casks for over 5 years.”
