GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Batch 2

The GlenAllachie Distillers Company has announced the launch of The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Batch 2, the second installment of the oldest expression currently available in the brand’s core range.

The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Batch 2 marries eight casks handpicked by Master Distiller Billy Walker: six 1990 and 1991 vintage ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso hogsheads and puncheons, along with two 1990 American virgin oak barrels which were toasted and charred to a medium level. Batch 2 is bottled non-chill filtered and with no added coloring at a cask strength of 50.8% ABV.

The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Batch 2 is described as having aromas of “heather honey, sultanas, mocha, cinnamon, coconut shavings, and dried fruits” and “dark chocolate, figs, orange zest, treacle, raisins, and cinnamon” on the palate, with “nutmeg” on the finish.

The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Batch 2 is limited to 2,000 bottles worldwide and is available now at a suggested retail price of £600.
