GlenAllachie Announces Batch 6 of UK Exclusive Single Cask Expressions
The GlenAllachie Distillery has announced Batch 6 of The GlenAllachie Single Cask expressions bottled exclusively for the UK market.
The Batch 6 single cask bottlings consist of four single malts selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker. All expressions are hand-numbered and bottled non-chill filtered, of natural color, and at cask strength.
The GlenAllachie 15 Year Old ex-Solera Oloroso Butt (Spirit of Speyside 2022) – Cask #3292
Aged in a fresh Bourbon barrel followed by a first-fill Oloroso puncheon, before being re-racked into an antique Oloroso Sherry butt previously used as part of an intricate solera system for 55 years. Bottled at 59.4% ABV and described as having aromas of “fig syrup, muscovado sugar, heather honey, soft spice, dried dark fruits, and orange zest,” with notes of “honeyed apricots, sticky sultanas, coffee beans, crystallised ginger, Black Forest gateau, and pecan pie” on the palate. The GlenAllachie 11 Year Old Premier Cru Classé Barrique – Cask #1036
Aged in a cask which previously matured premium first growth Bordeaux red wine. Bottled at 59.9% ABV and described as having aromas of “apple peel, cinnamon, heather honey, rose petals, dark chocolate, and Turkish delight,” with notes of “butterscotch, honeysuckle, mint, strawberry, ginger, and almonds” on the palate. The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Tawny Port Hogshead – Cask #5368
Aged in a cask sourced from Portugal which formerly held vintage Tawny Port. Bottled at 56.5% ABV and described as having aromas of “orchard fruit, honeycomb, strawberry coulis, almonds, maple syrup ginger, and pineapple,” with notes of “dried berries, cinnamon, heather honey, soft spice, pecans, and rose petals” on the palate. RRSP £95.
The GlenAllachie 9 Year Old Peated Bourbon Barrel – Cask #806890
Matured in an ex-Bourbon barrel which was used to age peated spirit distilled at The GlenAllachie Distillery. Bottled at 60.1% ABV and described as having aromas of “smoked pine nuts, ginger, cigar box, heather honey, soft spice, and burnt brown sugar,” with notes of “butterscotch, ginger, toasted almonds, caramelised sugar, dark chocolate, and black pepper” on the palate. RRSP £90.
Batch 6 of The GlenAllachie UK-exclusive Single Casks is available at retailers across the UK beginning May 2nd.
