The Macallan Launches Distil Your World New York
The Macallan has launched Distil Your World New York, the latest in a series of limited edition single malt Scotch whiskies exploring leading locations around the globe.
Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Maker Polly Logan in collaboration with the Roca brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named Best Restaurant in the World, Distil Your World New York “embodies and celebrates the city as a dynamic metropolis of art, creativity and visionary talent.”
Created from six European and American oak casks that were married and bottled at 49.5% ABV, Distil Your World New York is described as having aromas of “big apple with peanut brittle and milk chocolate, a sweet and salty mix like a rising dough, and a whisp of sidewalks, fresh rain, and cherry blossom.” The palate has notes of “baked apple, raisin, chocolate covered nuts, maple syrup, and toasted waffles with a side of salted pecans.” It concludes with a “medium” finish of “roasted nuts and sweet oak.”
Distil Your World New York is presented in a white box featuring an engraved aerial map of New York, with touches of blue on the box and bottle to represent the water that surrounds the city and the buildings which reach into the sky. The box also contains a book showcasing the inspirations behind the whisky and the craftsmanship involved in its creation, alongside New York photography.
The Macallan Distil Your World New York is limited to 1,000 bottles and will be available beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $4,200 (70 cL)/$4,500 (75 cL) at The Macallan Boutiques and select retailers around the world.
